Sacramento is experiencing two losses today that I have to say make me quite sad. The first is, of course, the loss of what I call Baby Albertsons. It's the small, fun Albertons located on 48th and J. It is known by those that have lived here longer than my 8 years as Little Luckys as I'm sure it was a Luckys before it got bought out by Albertsons. Regardless, it's an institution in the neighborhood and will be sorely missed. I have walked there drunk with friends on a warm summer night and never once did any of the employees get annoyed at our word slurring and difficulty finding our wallets. I've also stumbled out of the 2Me and into Baby Albertsons to pick up a light snack. I'll miss those days. I've actually been missing them for a few years anyway as now I'm married and in Tahoe Park. We have our own corner bar and baby grocery store but neither hold a flame to the J Street ones.

Today we're also losing my new favorite radio station. Ever since moving here I've never been able to find a station I can leave on for my whole 10 minute commute without getting annoyed. Flash did that for me with all 80's, all the time. Basically I just act like I'm in high school during my drives to and from work. I think tomorrow it's switching to a spanish language format. Don't even get me started. I don't want a bunch of hate email calling me a racist but I'm just annoyed that we have to have radio stations that aren't in our native tongue. Doesn't seem right? The DJs were playing a continuous loop of "Mexican Radio" this morning. Get it?

Just a test tolks at 9:32 a.m.

I'm testing out the weblog style which I'm thinking I should probably go with since I fill with ideas throughout the day and then forget them.

Only in Sacramento does this qualify as a headline. And only in Sacramento does what's beneath the headline qualify as a story. Yes, it's hot. We all know that. Haven't we covered this already? The only angle they could come up with is a bunch of kids trying to fry eggs on the sidewalk at a Boys and Girls Club. That's so, shall we say, trashy? Give us heat mayhem to read about. We want death or fires or aggression brought on by the heat that leads to a good fight.

I saw this story about my favorite President this morning and thought it was cute in a sad sort of way. It also reminded me that during the entire Lewinskygate, I was obsessed with Clinton. I made a comment in the office one day that I would have done the same thing Monica did (the good part, not the being friends with Linda Tripp part)and I was ridiculed for weeks. Actually, make that months. There is still a small group of folks who remember my comments and I will never live them down.

Yes, I'd love to watch porn with you! Sign me right up.

As an aside, I'd like to note that a long time ago I wrote this huge rant about the new 'traffic calming' roundabouts installed in my neighborhood. They sucked. Period. The city evaluated them for a year and then let us, the residents, vote. They were torn out within the week. So I must be nice to Sacramento for that one thing.
